I just read that any piece of electronics cased in aluminum is immune to EMPs. Do you think this will be the case with the HTC One? If so, I think they should definitely advertise this feature! You know who definitely would be subject to an EMP pulse?

Ah but they have injected plastic to isolate the antenna (to prevent that iPhone issue). So probably not. Not that the towers would be up.

I recommend the ferretvault series of solid lead cases...

Well yeah a completely closed off, hollow box of metal blocks all electric fields on the outside from interfering with whatever is on the inside. Thank you AP physics. But really when are you gonna be emp'd these days except when someone gets that 15 killstreak in cod?!

What about the front of the phone that is only covered by the glass screen?

Exactly! You have to be prepared! :P

It could have solved all the problems for the casino in Oceans 13!

Has anyone ever tested EMPs and cell phones?

Well, from my knowledge of emps they wipe out any type of electronic equipment . So if one where to happen you'd probably have a paper weight in your hand than a smartphone.

Id worry less about the phone and more about all of the other equiment affected by the EMP.
Towers, switching stations, power grid, cars, gas pumps.
Then take a step back and think, what actually caused the EMP. If it was nuclear are we going to have radiation fall out, am i already dead from the initial blast? LOL ok well not really anything to laugh at but in all likely hood the EMP and your HTC ONE might be the least of your worries.

Id learn how to sharpen the metal case to use as a zombie weapon. :)

haven't you heard of transparent aluminum?

The bright part is you can recycle the phone I'm any can collection place...

Want to know one heavy piece of electronic equipment that would be devastated by a strong EMP? Your brain. No metal protection, lots of electronics and liquid... 0% of data backed up; just out of luck.
