Did some people actually not get one of these with their M8?

Great little case. Slim and functional. Works well to keep the screen protected from the odd fall.

I called HTC and the guy had no idea they even have that case. He pushed the dotview case big time though.

Seriously, I found the case so grippy that I had to hold my pocket open to put the phone in, because there was too much friction against the pocket lining

You might not get a free case in the US, but from my understating you get 6 months free screen replacement. In Europe we don't.
