Hi, I'm thinking of getting a better headset for my M9. Has any one done this, and do additional functions like pause/play, fast forward/rewind work with the HTC.

The LG Bluetooth horse collar headsets are amazing, but you lose Next Radio functionality with any wireless system.

I have Jaybird Blue Buds and they are awesome. Kind of pricey but I use them for running and they sound great and have volume up and down, skip track forward and backward and pause, play.

I am using the Sony SBH50 BT with Hifiman RE272 and the sound quality is tremendous.

Meelectronics air-fi metro2 just as good as the jaybird bluebuds for 60 bucks on Amazon

I have these Motorola buds. That is the actual name BTW. They sound great. From what I read, they support the apt-x codec so they sound just as good as a wired set. The wires are a little short (maybe 1/2") but I just roll the rings that hold them all the way back. They are pretty good at blocking out outside noise, of course that depends on what said noise is (I work around heavy machinery that I can still hear with these on).

"Alternative Headphones"? Did everyone else get free headsets with their M9?

I've been using the bluetooth Jabra Sports Rox w/Google Play Music toggling between M9's Music and Cinematic listening modes. When the buds are well seated the sound is great. Once I figured out what that took it's been reasonably easy to recreate, but not instantaneous. The problem is that the ear positioning pieces easily come off. In fact one of them must be moved/removed for each charging.

A recent update sends garbled audio to the headphones on initial play. But that could be the Play Music app's issue.

I second these. I left then in my shorts in the wash and they still sound perfect. So the waterproof is definitely legit.

I've read that those music modes are not available for Bluetooth playback, just wired phones and internal speakers.

Sent from Tapatalk on either my HTC One M9 or Tab4 10.1, it kinda depends

David, thank you. I hadn't paid attention to when those options were available and when they weren't. Great clarification.

Because of this thread, I registered the Jabra app on my M9. Jabra also provides Dolby audio processing. Listening to the audio Dolby processed specifically for enhancing this headphone model is really nice. Not sure why I stopped using Jabra's app on the M8. I must have been having a bad day.

I got mine for a much lower price at Best Buy.
