HTC One - No sim card error?

Just started today. AT&T, OKC area, disconnecting calls and displaying NO SIM

This started happening to me with my HTC One recently. I called AT&T and they told me to take it to an AT&T service center and have them replace the sim card tray. The guy at the service center said it was a known issue and that htc had sent out new trays to the service centers. He also said that they would have replaced the tray for free even if it wasn't under warranty since it's a known issue and so easy to fix. Just make sure you go to a service center and not just a corporate store. It took ten minutes. I just did it today but so far so good.

can i just say this was fixed by using a electronic air can spray the liquid shot out in the sim card holder and now works fine

I started to have the same problem.It kept saying so sim card. I removed the sim card and put it back in even used a T-Mobile sim card and still got a no sim card error. I am using art&t phone. I reset my phone back to factory setting and the problem went away. Must been a virus in one of the apps. I will install a virus protection before installing new apps.

Putting it in airplane-mode and then back always works for me. It's somewhat annoying since I'm not reachable and I don't check my phone for this all the time

I tried the sticky tape trick (sticking it to the non-chip side of the sim card and cutting it to shape) and it fixed it instantly! It really was just cause of a loose sim card.

Anyone else having this? Periodically I keep getting notification that no sim card is present and that 4g lte service won't work etc. It's annoying as hell.

(I have the same issue of this happening periodically for no discernible reason to my HTC One, AT&T.) I just did the method of turning airplane mode on and then off again. It took a minute or two after airplane mode went off, but I got a "Preparing Sim Card" message and everything's working fine for the moment. I had previously tried re-starting the phone which did not work. I *think* one time I shook the phone violently to correct the issue ... but I can't swear that it wasn't a coincidence and am not recommending that as a course of action.

I get that error maybe once a month. I just lightly tap the top left of the phone and it goes away. Loose connection with the SIM card I guess. lol

Yes,... it has happened to several brands of phones. Though the example in the video is for a ZTE, the fact that the connections to the SIM card are not consistent may be the root issue. take a look at a video on youtube. I cannot bpost links yet so search youtube for the user TipsTricksTweeks and check out the video titled ZTE Lever Sim Card Error Fix - Permanent, take a look at the solution,.. try the concept and it may resolve the issue

I was having the same problem. Tried the tape on the sim card, worked for a day. Finally, last effort before fixing it with a sledge hammer, I, ejected sim and sprayed WD40 down the port. Working fine so far. Don't know whether this is recommended or not. But if I get a few weeks more, I'm happy.

Thank you so much. I tried your trick and it worked like a charm. I have an Alcatel and the sim would loosen frequently. Finally, today, there was no adjusting it....just wouldn't work. So, I tried exactly what you suggested and voila!! I was ready to pull my hair out!
