HTC One not recognizing mp3s from PC

I transferred about 2gb of music (mp3 format) from my PC to my HTC One's "Music" folder and when I check my phone's music player, there's nothing there. I tried a 3rd party music app, tried using media scanner apps, cleared cache for media storage, rebooted phone...no luck. Also tried HTC Sync Manager to copy the songs from there onto the phone and the songs still won't show up...

I can see the mp3 files are clearly on my phone in the "Music" folder using ES File Explorer. Don't know what to do... Any ideas?

They are .mp3 are they? Not protected? Will they play on another device? What happens if you tap one in ESS file explorer? Does it try to open it in an audio player?

They are ".mp3" and not protected. The songs are from my old phone (Samsung Vibrant) and they play fine on there using stock music player. Yes, if I tap one in ES File Explorer it does try to open it using an audio player.

Also, now it is working on 3rd party music players like PowerAmp, but the stock music player still won't recognize the mp3s...

When you tap on it in file explorer, if you don't have anything set to default then it should as you which player you want to open up the file and I'm assuming stock is an option. If so, can you see if it will play like that? Just curious.

I selected the Stock music player and it plays it in a mini mode (a little box pops up with the track line and pause/play button), it doesn't open up the whole player and play the song from there.

Are you saving to SD card or to internal memory? My SD card was bad and this happened. Yet every SD card testing program I ran said it was fine... Replaced the card with 8 GB instead of 32 and now it works.
