OK, so a few weeks ago my wife's HTC One S started to boot loop. I ended up having to factory reset it from Bootloader.
After that, we set up the phone again as new, including Dropbox account, Gmail, etc, but we had no backups (at least not intentionally).
Shortly after that, all her photos, apps and settings (assumed lost) suddenly started showing up again. I figured it was some sort of auto-restore from cloud that I wasn't aware of.
Anyway, the boot loop showed up again yesterday. We had to factory reset, again. However, this time there's been no restoration of photos, apps, etc.
Can anyone explain what might have happened that first time to bring her photos et al back from the dead?
