So two nights ago I was charging my phone, updating around 5 apps, floating around facebook, and downloading another app (Xbox One Smartglass). When I opened my new smartglass app the screen went black, but was still backlit, and the capacitive buttons were lit up but nothing worked. I held the power button until the phone shut off, simulating a battery pull. After that the charge light would not come one even when the phone was off and whenever I powered it on it got stuck at the very first quietly brilliant screen. I tried booting in to fast boot, in to recovery, and whenever I hit reboot it would just shut off, as if no command was working. Sometimes the charge indicator showed up for 10 seconds then shut off. So I even tried restoring my original firmware through the HTC Site (phone is not rooted mind you and no custom roms) and it would not boot in to the mode it needed to boot in to. I decided to go to bed since I have Best Buy insurance and take it there in the morning. Left the phone on the charger all night and woke up periodically and the charge light still would not come on. When I woke up to get ready for my day I actually looked at the phone and saw the charge light turn on, and then the phone turned on and I lost no data... very strange and it works fine now.
Am just leaving this as a tip for any stock users who experience what I did! Just leave the phone out and let the battery die by either leaving the quietly brilliant screen on or if it is already on low battery just leave it off! Once the battery dies it will connect to the charger. Not sure what happened to my phone since the smartglass app does not crash it anymore, but just thought id report this
