HTC One X (AT&T) Woes...

I thought I'd post here to see if I am the only person having many issues with the new HTC One X for AT&T...

1. Using the headphone jack while charging in the car produces an incredible amount of random white noise unless there is music actually playing. I've never had a phone do this, nor any version of ipod, etc. It's terrible.

2. WIFI range is HORRIBLE. Any more than a few rooms away from the wireless router and signal drops to nothing.

3. Text Messaging font randomly changes sizes. Medium setting looks one way, then a few minutes later Medium setting jumps to a larger font size.

Biggest annoyances are items 1 and 2. I can't be the only person experiencing this... unless my phone is just bad.

Feedback appreciated...

Mine sounds fine in my car, but I get that white noise when I use it in my wife's car. Also, in my wife's car, I don't get any audio at all unless I plug it into the charger.

1. Agree, I had the same issue in a recent rental car.
2. Hmm, I don't experience this, but my apartment is pretty small...
3. Yep, a known bug in stock build.

Are you in an LTE area? One thing to look for - if you go through areas where you lose signal (most notably - subway rides), there is an issue that some folks experience, where the device drains the battery very quickly AFTER getting signal again. I experience this on 2 separate One X units, and have heard multiple reports of this from others. We don't know what causes this yet.

I am not in LTE - Boston area. NO LTE.

I can confirm for item 1. All my friends phones and my son's iPod do not produce any white noise in my car when both charging or not charging. Mine produces some white noise when music is not playing (even in the slight pause between songs) when not charging and very loud white noise if charging.

I can confirm for item 2. WIFI is ridiculously weak. All other wireless devices I have used have worked extremely well around the house and outside as well. My son's iPod gets signal at the end of my driveway 400ft away. My HTC One X fails as soon as I walk out the door.

I probably have one of the first batches as I preordered this phone before release date. Who knows. This, however, will be my first and last HTC device. I'm definitely not a happy customer. I've never had such basic phone functions be sub-par on any phone I've owned from Motorola's, to Blackberry's, to iPhones. Annoying.

The font issue could be because ur pinching without realizing it. U can pinch to make the font a different size.

1) I experience this white noise when charging and playing through my monitor speakers at work.

2) I have seen this in my house but it appears to be more cosmetic as I do not notice a slow down in data.

3) I have not experienced this

Boston is an LTE area. I live north of the city, work in the city and was recently at Patriots Place and all had LTE coverage.

Have you done the wifi test to see if your HOX is defective? Look on YouTube if you don't know what I am talking about. I would return the phone to AT&T if you have a hardware issue.

I had the same issue with my WIFI. I had my laptop, blackberry and HTC in the same room, HTC had poor signal while all the others had full.

I contacted HTC after seeing they have said there is a design fault. I have the international quad core one x but i assume they are both the same other than the cores so contact customer services for a fix.
