1.29.401.12 is the new build number, check in software info under info in settings

I show 1.29.651.7 on my stock HTC One (haven't received any updates). Wouldn't that, presumably, be newer than that build?
That article was for an earlier upgrade. There is a more recent upgrade that further improves the camera and other stuff, but it is Europe/UK only atm.

Ugh. Here we go again. That story linked to another story that linked to another story that mistook a pre-release update for a post-release update. There's no news here. The update going out this week doesn't greatly improve anything. It's a few small fixes, and it doesn't greatly change camera functionality in the slightest.

Sure. But that's a different update than what the OP was referring to.
