1.29.401.12 is the new build number, check in software info under info in settings

I show 1.29.651.7 on my stock HTC One (haven't received any updates). Wouldn't that, presumably, be newer than that build?

I installed the new build last night, I can confirm its 1.29.401.12

That article was for an earlier upgrade. There is a more recent upgrade that further improves the camera and other stuff, but it is Europe/UK only atm.

Yep, that's right, the update is correct though at 1.29.401.12, I'm in the UK

The update going out this week doesn't greatly improve anything. It's a few small fixes, and it doesn't greatly change camera functionality in the slightest.

On the One I remember there were two ways to check for Updates, one via HTC and one via AT&T. Is it possible that HTC could release the update like this and bypass AT&T? The S4 there's one way to check for updates and that's via AT&T.

Sure. But that's a different update than what the OP was referring to.

I'm pretty sure when updating, the release notes did specify camera tuning improvements. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to confirm as I'm a poor photographer, they'd all look the same to me!

This is what changed in the camera.

• Improvement to sound capture with Zoe
• Noise reduction in slow motion movie capture
• Improved colour reproduction and dynamic range (reduced over-exposure in non-HDR images) in certain conditions
• Fix to display correct ISO in EXIF information when ISO settings are manually changed by the user

My stock AT&T shows 1.26.502.10 and it says no updates available, weird.

I have the new update and i wouldnt be over impressed with the camera update, No great improvement here anyway, Bluetooth however is finally working properly thank god!
