Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has tried installing the new software update 3.35.401.32 on an M9.

For me the installation get to 25% and then crashes with the red triangle. I tried twice and the same issue at 25%.

Contacted HTC and they advised that I Wipe Cache Partition, which i did, but the same crash at 25%.

Many thanks

try to flash system_image if u made it when u got custom recovery, but first set your recovery not to mount /system read-write

cheers

Thanks for the reply. I think this is an HTC bug. Going to wait a few weeks to see if there is another update.

Had the same problem. HTC was no help. Finally copied the file to a SD card (d/load) I think and ran it. It worked.

Same problem. HTC suggested factory reset, which did not help, and afterwards informed me that the issue had been forwarded to the HTC IT department...

I've been having this issue for a few weeks now. I've tried factory restoring the phone, no dice. I've tried tweeting and e-mailing HTC but no reply!

Did anyone come up with a proper fix? I've not flashed phone ROMs for AGES, so would need some extra guidance ;)

Thanks.

Just to update with my situation, my phone started cyclic booting the other day and after speaking with HTC Support it has been sent off for repair. Looked like the internal storage had failed as when trying to perform a factory reset on the boot menu it kept coming up with E:/ could not mount errors.

Hopefully it will come back fixed!

Hi,

same issue, device not rooted! HTC M9 unlocked.

I've been waiting for 3 months now to update with no success. I have version 3.35.401.12 and it won't upgrade to v.3.35.401.32!

The process of upgrading goes up to 25% and then it stops with an error (red triangle). How can we fix this issue as I am expecting also Nougat update soon.

Please help.

Just an update: HTC support are aware of this issue but there is no fix at the moment. They advised that I send in the phone for repair so possibly an issue with the hardware or something as a factory reset does not resolve the issue. They said it is free if the phone is under 24 months old, and if there is no water damage etc, but best check them yourself to be sure.

They also said that you will not be able to update to 7.0 Nougat unless you have the latest 6.0 build, which is 3.35.401.32, which is a shame.

Unfortunately for me, although my phone works fine it did take a swim, well a 3rd of it anyway, and water damage will be visible, although I don't think this is the reason why the update is not working as other are having the same issue. Need to decide whether to send it in or not.

Good Luck.

So could this be the reason why I can't upgrade to Nougat in the Uk cause the latest version before nougat has been pulled?

hi, i also tried the OTA nougat update for my M9 and it failed. now my phone says it has software changes and will not let me into the recovery mode or download mode. i have literally no idea what to try now as this is a stock unlocked phone from giff gaff only a year old. it still works but obviously i would like to get it back to original so i can update when the time comes
any ideas or help appreciated.

hi, i ended up sending my M9 back to HTC. they reinstalled the software back to original then put nugget on it for me. took about 6 working days and was FOC as they agreed i ht tampered with the phone.
