HTC Sync 3.0 - Outlook Calendar Only Partially Synchronized

I just got Droid Incredible and have installed HTC 3.0 on my computer. I've set it up to sync my calendar from Outlook 2003 (I do not have Exchange) via USB. After doing so, I noticed that only some of my calendar items appear on my DInc. After some investigation, it seems that the items that successfully sync to the phone are appointments that I've created myself in Outlook on my computer; meetings, holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. The items that aren't syncing are any appointments (both reoccurring or not) that were initiated by another party via email and added to my Outlook calendar. Does anyone have any idea why this happens and has suggestions on how to fix it?

I am looking for the simplest solution on how to get my Outlook calendar to sync with my phone. I would prefer not to use Google Calendar Sync to sync my calendar. I previously had a Blackberry Storm and I’m comfortable with plugging my phone into my computer via USB everyday and pushing my calendar one way into my phone at the beginning and end of each day.

I've scoured many threads and haven't found anything addressing this specific problem.

If anyone has any good suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Sorry can't help with HTC sync since I've never used it, but I use Google calendar sync which was pretty easy to install and as you know you never need to manually sync. I set it up a year ago and haven't had to worry about it since.

Good luck finding a HTC fix but if you decide to use Google let me know and I will help.

Go Blue!!!

I came from BB and was also use to syncing my BB with Outlook (appt, contacts, notes, tasks) unfortunately you can only get a portion of what you want completed by HTC Sync. That is the one downside. I was reluctant as well to turn everything over to Google but I did and haven't looked back. There are some work arounds that you can look up in the forums but if you don't mind turning your info over to Google Calendar/contacts/tasks it will save you a lot of headache's in the long run.

Good luck! It's a great phone especially after your Storm it's just going to take a little bit of getting use to.

I too came from BB & was very used to syncing via usb and reluctant via google app. I research & paid for a few diff programs (to sync cal, tasks, memos & contacts) and am very happy with gsyncit--it does work with google apps for all 4 and is seamless.

BB was easy for a few things but once you get used to the diff, the droid is a far superior platform & phone

Thanks for the great comments. I appreciate the feedback. I'm not totally opposed to using Google Calendar Sync, but I just want to know why some calendar appointments sync and some don't in HTC Sync. It's just kind of weird. If there's a quick fix for that, then I wouldn't need to use GCS or any other third party program.

1. Are you sure that Sync 3.0 is OK to use on your Dinc? All I can find on the HTC site says it is not approved for the Incredible.
2. Where did you get Sync 3.0?

OK, since there didn't seem to be a good answer for this, I decided to give Google Calendar Sync a shot. This also did not work. It seems that any calendar appointment initiated and updated by a third party does not transfer over to Google calender or the DInc calendar via HTC Sync. This is a bummer because almost all of my important appointments are initiated and updated this way. It's just frustrating because I never had this problem with my Blackberry (It just had a bunch of different issues. HA!). If anyone can recommend a work around (hopefully, cheap or free), it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
