HTC TB questions before purchase

Hey!

I'm looking into moving to Verizon, and purchasing an HTC Thunderbolt. Out of the 3 LTE phones, this one seemed to be the best for me. A couple of questions for you current owners, if that's ok?

-Does 4G/LTE unlimited data plans add an additional cost to 4G/LTE service? I've read mixed answers.

-Is 4G really worth it in terms of cost and speed?

-Can the TB run Netflix?

-Will I be grandfathered in to the unlimited data package if I purchase before July 7th?

Just an FYI, I'm coming from an iPhone 3GS with AT&T (yuck I know!) with a mixture of Macs and PCs at my house and work. Going from the iOS to the Droid is a big step for me, but I'm willing to take the plunge! Thanks everyone!

I figured it would be worth it, so that's why I went with the TB. I read too many complaints from the other 2 phones anyways. The TB seems to be a great fit for me! Thanks!

I did some more research and it looks like Netflix works with Gingerbread only...and I guess the TB should be getting an update to Gingerbread this month! Is that all true or just hearsay?

Not necessarily heresay, that rumor has been floating around for a while now, but none of us are holding our collective breaths. It seems updates have been stalled a bit, as the 4G radio has turned out to be a tricky beast (or so it would seem). I don't say this to discourage you, but it has seemed like all scheduled updates thus far have all arrived later than they were originally rumored to be released.

Still a great device and for most of us, the current software runs great. Not sure if you're the type who likes to root and install custom ROMs, but if so, this device has a HUGE amount of dev support, and some GB ROMS are already available. If not, like I said, you may be waiting a bit longer than was originally planned for a GB update.

Gingerbread or any thing else is always a rumor until it becomes fact... sorry, but most of us have lived with the rumors of the Thunderbolt... from the day it was suppose to be release, which slipped for a long time... to OTA's to fix issues... to Netflix and Skype.

We will see Gingerbread when they release Gingerbread.

Legal... sure it's legal... but it will void your warranty... but it's not hard to un-root your device too.

The "class" of an SD card refers to the read/write speed of the card. I don't know what sort of speed the 'bolt is capable of, though.
