HTC Thunderbolt on pre pay

I recently lost my phone which i was using on verizon wireless pre pay. My buddy sold me a newly bought thunderbolt not yet used. I was just wondering if there was anyway to put the thunderbolt on a pre pay plan. I know i'd have to pay the 30 dollars for data and what not, just want to know if it is possible

I have been told "no" by multiple verizon store representatives. More specifically, I was always told that the only phones that worked on pre-pay were the four (or so) models sold for such purposes. I am not sure why, but my suspicion is that this is a business decision on the part of Verizon.

Not directly from Verizon but you can use page plus pre paid , which is a Verizon mvno.

Note that only 3g devices are officially allowed on page plus, but you can flash the Thunderbolt to work with page plus.
