I mentioned this in a article on AC about this phone. Regarding the non-mechanical virtual power and volume rockers what do you do if the phone freezes?

Well, I'm not sure what the answer to your question would be, as I don't have the phone yet. But if this HTC is anything like the U11, 10 M9, M8 or M7 I've owned, you won't have much of a problem with freezing. At least I've never had any. The occasional stutter here and there. Nothing consistent though.

Thanks for the reply anyway.

I read that the buttons have a separate independent power supply, so shouldn't be any problems.

I don't have any definitive proof of this, but the few things I've found online mentions that it works on a separate BIOS so that it can interact separately from the rest of the hardware. I'm surprised HTC hasn't mentioned anything specifically about it yet.

I think you're right. Since the haptic feedback can be felt even when the phone is powered off.

Thanks everyone for your input if that's the case I'll definitely be getting that HTC especially the blue one.
