Really Android? I came from crappy bberry 9700 where html email at least showed the image files. How can the stock mail client not render html email. I hope that I am an idiot and just need to change some settings as is often the case but hell even my old iphone 3g could do this. Also, what's up with not being able to delete preinstalled apps? I'm not lazy, I've googled this stuff but it appears as though I have to install a 3rd party app killer, is this right? Also, I have posted in the Inspire forum hoping someone could help me with showing agenda on the homescreen for emails, sms, calendar and missed calls. I know with all the experts out there that there must be an answer. I love this phone but I need major help!

First off scrap the App killer its not necessary.
Make sure Javascript is enabled and check load images.

Where will I find the option to enable Javascript and "load images"? Aren't those web settings? The main problem I'm seeing is that when I'm in Mail Settings the option to click "html" instead of "text" is grayed out.

Unlike the BB you're not stuck with the stock apps. If you can't sort out HTML support with the stock app then try another email client. You might have better luck in a subforum for your device since the stock email client can vary from device to device. Be careful assuming that Android itself is the issue. The Android OS itself does not prevent HTML email support.

You don't need an app killer. It's not relevant to removing preinstalled apps. Try looking into rooting.

Thanks for the response. I have posted in the Inspire forum but noone seems to acknowledge the html issue with HTC and Froyo 2.2. After doing some research it is apparently a known issue.

yes it is in the web settings I also use Opera mini browser typing and adding attachments in HTML email.
hope that helps

I'm having the same issue. I just upgraded my phone to the HTC Inspire 4G from the Motorola Backflip, and my POP email would use HTML format, but on the Inspire, the option to change it from plain text is greyed out so I can't select and change it. I also had issue setting up my POP email using hotmail. I have to set it up using the Exchange Activesync because when I went through setting it up manually using the POP settings for ingoing and outgoing servers and ports, I could receive emails but couldn't send them. My Gmail works fine...of course.
