Have been looking forward to this announcement!

P9 looks promising (not interested in the P9 Plus). Here are my positives so far:
- Quite compact (a little taller than I would have liked but only a couple of millmeters more than the S7 and Mi 5)
- 5.2" 1080p and 3000mAh battery is good.
- No glossy plastic or shiny grubby glass on the back (Yes!!!), and plenty of colour choices.
- Dual SIM version
- 3GB/32GB or 4GB/64GB version
- Dual-camera sounds interesting
- Support for 18 LTE bands!
- Optimised file system (so hopefully no lag over time, wonder if this is similar to UFS 2.0?)

IR Blaster but not sure if it is only on the Plus version?

May be my next phone. Just need to know the price...

It does look like to be an interesting phone.

I looked at a site promising to reveal the price, but it did not. So I'll guess at £400 for the P9 in the UK.
