I just bought the mate 20 Pro and I'm in the market for a smartwatch. Will I have any compatibility issues if I decide to buy Samsung galaxy watch?

I moved this from the Galaxy Gear forum to the Galaxy Watch forum.

I'm in the same boat with the P20 Pro but have heard there are issues with email and text notifications and not clear if you can answer the phone on the watch so will be watching this post with interest

I'm facing the same issue. I was able to install the galaxy gear S3 wearable app on my Mate 20 pro, it shows that the device is connected to the phone as a Bluetooth device but unable to sync or use the app as it keeps crashing with an error message " Your device has been reset. Connect again"
Any help...?

Worth checking before you buy a Galaxy Watch.

There is a certain merit in "buying into" a brand.

The way the Galaxy watch works seamlessly with the S9+ is really quite something.

To my mind It all just seems to "fit " together as one system so once I had a Samsung phone I didn't really consider any other brand of smart watch - particularly after all the faff I had with a Fitbit and it notifying me of incoming calls after the phone had stopped ringing. ( if at all)

It seems there is compatibility Issues with Samsung Gear S3 with Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I just bought my new mobile Huawei Mate 20 Pro and I tried to pair my Samsung Gear S3 but how many times I scan by bluetooth but it cannot detect my smart watch.

I moved to the Mate 20 Pro from Samsung S8+ and had issues connecting and syncing my Gear S3 as it's so much better than the Huawei watch.
Tried resetting the watch several times before finding the solution.
Make sure you have the Wearable and gear S plugin installed. Delete the watch from the phone, reset the watch and run the Wearable app. Don't connect the watch via Bluetooth first, let the app do that. Run the setup. All works fine now.

I'm using a Huawei Mate 20 X (Chinese ROM) and Gear S3 Frontier and Galaxy Watch 46mm and it all works flawlessly including S-Health... except for one...

I am unable to control Huawei Music app from the samsung watches mentioned above.

Is there any way around this?

Usually, I listen to music at the office to drown out unnecessary chatter, using a wired headset (a Fiio F9 Pro) which has a play/pause button and a + and - for volume. Unfortunately, for switching tracks, I still need to open the phone which could have been easy if the samsung watches can control music (switching tracks) from another android phone like Huawei.

Has anybody had any luck on this?

TIA
