Huawei Nova Plus not downloading Android Messenges with Bitmoji

[Android Central Question]

Since the upgrade of Android Messenges sometimes when I receive a text with a bitmoji it won't download if on mobile data, It only downloads on WIFI. I have a data plan so not sure why this is happening as it has nothing to do with my data package. If I receive the exact same text in the native text app or whatsapp it works. I checked with my mobile company and they say it has to do with android updating this app and it might not be stable.

Any help would be appreciated as I don't like the native app and not everyone uses whatsapp.
