huawei P20 pro screen broken

Hi guys,

right i have a small problem i would like to get solved.

my Huawei P20 PRO has not been backed up , i dont have Hisuite active.

the start of the story begins with me loosing my phone a few days ago, so i tracked my google account to find the phone.

i now have my phone back but the problem is the phone is smashed up, screen does not work, but when i plug in a charger it vibrates and brings the light up. now what i want to do is get all my content off the phone as it is so precious to us because we have over 3,500 photos of our baby boy from birth.

i locked the device on "find my device" so no-one could get into the phone. which now has a password to unlock it but i cannot get onto the phone as i said before the screen is broken and is black.

what are my options is i have tried the following:

plugged into PC and tried a ADB driver ( PC says device not connected)

HiSuite needs to be activated on phone ( which is not)

tried multiple youtube videos but cannot get a clear answer as i dont think anyone has come across this problem before.

Please help as me and my partner are so devastated all we want is the pictures.

try connecting a keyboard via USB otg adapter. that should get you around touch issues. but if the screen stays black that's not much of help.

do you see what's on the screen but just can't do any inputs? or does the screen stay black whatsoever?

for the latter, find a repair shop and get your screen and digitizer replaced

or

contact some professional data recovery company to recover all the data. but that tends to be more expensive and maybe even unnecessary if the screen is replaceable

Are your pics backed up in Google? Seriously, if things are that important, you should back them up, it would save a lot of heartache.
