HTC is probably announcing a new 10.1" tablet in a couple weeks. It's rumored to be releasing in June. If it deals with the copywrite issues for Hulu & Netflix, that might be the ONLY way I would consider not getting a wifi-only Xoom.

If they would have just released the damn wifi-only version along with the 3G/4G version, I wouldn't even be contemplating this...

Oh yeah, if HTC's tablet is significantly thinner & lighter, I might just HAVE to wait

Well, I suspect that any remaining DRM issues (which our chips are the first to be able to satisfy the content makers) will be available cross-platform for Tegra-based devices.

IOW, we'll (likely) get it when they do.

ohai Netflix!

Nice screenshot. Does it actually play? Not working on phones (if this is the LG dump).

It's none of my business, but do you really want to sign into a pirated, copyrighted, and stolen (in their eyes) application when they have all your user details, credit card info, and real name?

lol. I'm pretty sure it will be released for the Xoom when it's out for the Revolution. Woud be a horrible business move on their part not to. Until then, let some of those crazy ******'s at XDA get in trouble trying to crack it :p

haha yea... it ran smooth when i had it on both my DX and XOOM... no video just messing with all the settings and searching on queues

Hrmph. I'll call 'em myself and tell em I have it! I'm more concerned about the app infecting me than I am of NetFlix.

You have PAYING CUSTOMERS who have been waiting for this for YEARS now- they should be apologizing, not antagonizing!

Good point. Someone needs tighter controls to prevent these leaks not that I don't enjoy them ;) Wish it worked now.

Define "significantly". The XOOM is about a half inch thick, for Pete's sake. How are you going to get "significantly" thinner and lighter?

Assuming Apple pulled out all the stops in trying to make their second generation as thin as possible, they were only able to shave an 8th of an inch and 4 ounces. And it still lacks peripherals which are in the XOOM.

I don't believe you'll get significantly thinner and lighter, but you may get significantly cheaper. Once all these tablets hit the market, someone is going to blink. With that many competitors, someone is going to panic and start buying market share by bombing price.

1.My point is if you don't have a nexflix account how could you steal movies.
2. I probably own most of the movies that they stream.
3. Its easier to rent from redbox and rip

Come on Netflix....stop the BS and release the damn app.

Oh, I must have been misinformed. I was under the impression that the DRM they wanted was built into the Qualcomm chips but not the Tegras. You're sure that the Tegra chips have the proper DRM that they're looking for? Can anyone confirm with a link? If so, this is very good news!

Oh jeez, when they start talking in millimeters it all seems like such a drastic reduction, but when you say 1/8th of an inch, it doesn't seem like a big deal at all! Thanks for translating for me, haha!

Ah, very good point. So if DRM isn't an issue, and if the fatness/weight isn't as big an issue as I thought, then the only question is whether I want to pay more to be an early adopter. But another way to look at it is that when I upgrade in a year or so, it'll be super cheap! Either way, I don't think the first round of tablets from any competitors will be noticeably cheaper than the Xoom... I don't think they'll dip much in price at least until late summer or fall.

There is a cite (w/o dates) here.

So, it's not a complete certaintly, but I suspect they wouldn't have even given the press release w/o seeing if the chip was capable first.
