Hybrid smartwatch

Hello all,

I just want to share the information about a hybrid-type smartwatch I found interesting.

I've been using Moto 360 and LG Urbane, and as you guys know, the biggest problem is the battery life. When the battery is out, the watch is useless, since it cannot even deliver the time information.

Recently, I found one that just looks like the ordinary watches, but has a transparent LCD on it.

I think it's cool, but do not know when this is going to be released. Anyone knows any information about this watch?

The watch pictured above is called the Kairos watch. More information about it can be found here: https://kairoswatches.com . I haven't looked into the Kairos in a while, but last I checked it was unclear as to when the watch would actually be released and available for sale. They did have a "pre-order" option, but not sure when you would actually receive the watch.

There is another "hybrid" watch called the Halo watch (actually there are two, Halo 1 & Halo 2). Sadly, I can't find any release date for these watches yet.

Halo 2

To a lesser degree and depending on your definition of "hybrid" smartwatch... The Martian smartwatches could also be included in this category... http://www.martianwatches.com

Several models of the Martian watches are already available on the market.

I have a Martian Notifier - it is nice, but I like the ability to respond from my Android Wear. Also the display is a little difficult to read. I believe the Kairos costs over $1000.

Depending on which model you pick, Kairos can range from around $1100 - $2500 MSRP .

There are lots of watch models, color options, mechanical movements, watch band choices, etc. and you choice / combination will determine the price. Kinda similar to what Apple is currently doing with the Apple Watch.

It's an interesting idea, but look at the thickness of those things: https://kairoswatches.com/watches/msw_icon/

No way! As it is, I find it nearly impossible to button the cuffs of my dress shirts over my LG Watch Urbane. With the Kairo watch I'd be forced to limit myself to short sleeve shirts. :)
