I see people walking around the bock and they have their portable water. Folks, it takes some effort to get you to the point where you're in trouble from dehydration. The water/container/fitness industries are making a fortune on your paranoia.

Have we really become so out of touch with our bodies that we need to rely on tech to tell us when we are thirsty and to make sure we have enough electrolytes?
Seemingly, and no less shocking than we also need a Digital Wellbeing app to tell us that we have been playing games or browsing Facebook for too long. 🤷

But it happens! Life isn't always cut & dry.

Two years ago, I collapsed in the sun. When I came to, the paramedics had already pumped a bag of fluids into me & I was halfway through the second bag. On the way to the hospital, they administered a shot of adrenaline. I also vaguely remember two additional shots, but I was in & out of consciousness, so I don't know what they were.

I spent 12 hours in an emergency treatment room. Test after test, doctor after doctor & bag after bag of fluids. My kidneys were close to failing. I finally leveled off & spent the next 17 hours in observation.

I didn't know my body was in crisis. I felt fine up until a few moments before I passed out. You'll probably judge me as not being too bright, but there's a story of how I got to that point. If a sensor on my watch would have alerted me that I was in trouble, things might have turned out differently.
