I actually like my Nexus 7 - tell your story

It seems like most threads in this forum have something negative to say about the Nexus 7. I'm actually extremely happy with mine. UPS delivered it last night and I haven't had a single issue with it.

-The 7" size is perfect. My wife has an Ipad 2 and it always seemed too heavy for anything other than browsing the web on the couch.

-Fast. The tab operation is very fluid and "Apple-like"

-Widgets. I currently have a Galaxy Nexus and most widgets take too much space too be useful. On the Nexus 7 I can actually use the widgets as designed.

-Reading. Once again the size is great for that. I even picked up the Comics app and started reading comics for the first time (Walking Dead).

-Tablet Apps. Most of the reviews that I've seen complain about the lack of tablet specific apps for Android. All the apps I've installed up to now look great on the Nexus 7, even the ones not designed for it. Here are a few: Bank of America, BeyondPod, Boston BusMap, Comics, Evernote, Mint, Plume, Pocket, Slingplayer, Songza, Teamviewer.

Any other satisfied customers out there? Did you find any other good apps for the Nexus 7?

Yep same here really satisfied with my new tablet. A lot of people who made complaints were not really problems rather the own presumptions like the whole issue of delivery even though Google never once said or even alluded towards delivery it before the other retail stores.

Love my new tablet haven't downloaded any apps yet going to do some research first so my ?15 credit is well spent.

Love my N7, been waiting for Google to release a Nexus version. Perfect size and weight, I'm quite satisfied.

love mine so much. haven't used my laptop since I got it other than to unlock and root. way too many negative threads for such a great device :)

yep, the 7" book size is a great form factor for web surfing and reading.

The extra vertical resolution over a RIM Playbook also helps a lot. I like that the N7 is a little smaller and lighter...easier to hold for a longer time though the grip is slightly different (bottom instead of side) to be comfortable.

I'm very happy with my Nexus 7. I had an ipad and it was too bulky and heavy for me. I used it for about 3 months and then sold it. The N7 fits in my hand, it's lightweight and the performance is smooth and fast. I went to Verizon today to purchase a mobile hot spot and three of the customer service guys asked to see my N7. One was practically drooling over it and purchased one while I was still in the store! lol A friend also bought one and is very happy with it. I haven't had a single issue or complaint yet.

Overall I am very happy. At this point my only complaints would be lack of external storage and the form factor. I would have been nice if they had curved the corners a bit more to make it more comfortable to use. But neither are game enders for me.

I really enjoy the device, but I don't know if it is because I am still in the honeymoon phase. Jellybean is quite good. I do miss the ICS/Honeycomb home screen though. I don't like using portrait 100% of the time. However, it is good and it works well, I think it is just a personal preference. I will see in a week. I am baffled how fast Tegra 3 is on Jellybean though. Apps open/close and switch so quickly it is insane.

It is a great device.

There are apps that are tough to read though due to the combination screen size and resolution (those that don't let you zoom).

Otherwise this thing kicks ass.

I'm very happy with my nexus 7! This is my first tablet but not my first android device. I had a droid incredible before jumping to an iPhone 4 and I loved it. This device is miles ahead of the incredible tho! So far it just feels so seemless and fluid. Even more than what I was expecting. I've prolly downloaded five or so tegra zone games and color me impressed! I'm not a big fan of fps games so I didn't go for dead trigger or shadowgun but I did try puddle and seigecraft. Both are beautiful and play great. There is an app btw that can force the tablet into landscape when you tilt it but it costs about $3 after the 7 day trial. Just search rotation in GP and it's one of the first apps.

OK, well it started off in frustration. No delivery or communication from Google. So I gave up and got one from Sams club. That one had a screwed up screen - you could see the LEDs, and the lighting was horrible and top left corner was dark. But it looked good and ran well otherwise. Got another and it was perfect. So since then I have been playing with it and have had no compatibility issues with anything I wanted to load except Navigon. It's a bit larger than my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 plus. Display is much better. OS is much better. I wish I had a case for it, but that's coming. So far so good!

Yep about the only thing that bugs me too other then that I love it. Did have a force close of the settings right after setup wallet but a reboot cleared things up. I think the NFC was caught up cause I was trying to send a website from my galaxy nexus to my 7 right after I setup wallet. Then tried going to setting to make sure NFC was on and force close tried relaunching settings and it force closed again.

I totally agree with that! It seems like some people are never happy unless they're unhappy. Whatever, I love my Nexus 7! :-)
