I am a new Verizon U11 owner with some questions. Mainly Verizon visual voicemail.

This is the first time I have bought a phone directly from the manufacturer. I assumed it would work as normal since HTC says it is compatible with Verizon. I ran into an issue getting it to work with Verizon when I first received it. The third tech support person at Verizon finally got it to work. He said he had to "enable a setting" in order for the U11 to work on their network. He then informed me that it wasn't backwards compatible with 3G towers. That isn't a big deal since most of Verizon is now on the newest towers but when I am in the sticks it could be an issue. I didn't realize that there would be any issues using the U11 with Verizon but when he told me that I started to do some research. I now realize there are some limitations. Most are not that big of a deal but one is, voicemail! I can't get Verizon visual voicemail. I have to dial in to listen to messages. This is unacceptable in 2017. I stopped by a Verizon store and they told me there is no way to get it.

Are there any other voicemail apps that will work like Verizon visual voicemail does? I would hate to return the U11 just because I can't get voicemail to work properly.

I have heard about Google Voice while researching this issue. Maybe that is the way to go. I will do more research about it.

Thanks for the response!

I got Google voice working. It wasn't the easiest thing to setup but I figured it out.

I wish Verizon would allow u11 users to download their visual voicemail app but I can live without it.

I am having a few other minor issues but I'll start different threads for them.

Thanks again ckupsco!
