Expected release date is Jan. 20 2011 in South Korea (there's some off-beat dates off 1/10 too, but the 20th seems pretty solid).

Regardless of what date it's released, I'm getting it. With a two-year contract I'll be paying about KRW65000~70000/month (roughly 60~65USD).

News sites have been reporting a January release date since December, and the blogger/forum community has been giving the date of the 20th for the 2X in black, and a February release date for the white version.

There's plenty of sources regarding a January release, but nothing concrete on the 20th yet. Either way, the whole country seems to believe we're getting it this month.

Also it seems the Optimus Black will see a very-soon release: LG???? ??Ƽ?ӽ? '2X????????????' SKT ?? ???3?? ???? ???? ::?????丶??::

Article is in Korea, but mentions how each of the three major carriers in Korea will get an Optimus. LGT: Mach, SKT: 2X, KT: Black.

Will post more as I get any more concrete info.

EDIT: Not sure if you also wanted any information regarding the pricing I mentioned...

Phone is currently believed to be at roughly 1000$ (Something like 1,139,999KRW). I find that to be on the pricey side, so I'm hoping it's just a false rumor. Either way, Korea offers financing on its phones over the period of your contract. You receive a significant discount on the phone price for the two year contract, and also a monthly discount based on the plan level.

For instance, the Galaxy Tab with a monthly 55,000KRW plan reduces the cost of the device to 220,000KRW. You'd just pay a 9166KRW (220,000 / 24 months) on top of your monthly 55,000 (so like a grand total of 65,000~KRW, depending on taxes).

If you were to select the 95,000KRW monthly plan, the tablet is free, and you'd actually get an additional $2 discount on your actual plan.

Note: The "unlimited data" starts with the 55,000KRW monthly plan. It's the most commonly compared/purchased/etc.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I'm hoping this phone lands on T-Mobile here in the states and isn't ridiculously expensive. I JUST got a new phone so won't have an upgrade. I'll have to buy it outright. :(

Its already announced to be running on T-Mobile, and the Optimus Black is for the CDMA carriers. Not sure which one though.

I want the 2X also!! I'm sitting on a Sprint upgrade waiting for this phone... If it goes to someone else, I'm switching!! That is unless we find there's a major flaw with the phone, like with the GPS on the Galaxy S, that LG won't acknowledge.

I want a slider phone, one that is compatible with one of those little t-mobile cards inside the phone so I can just switch them out (and keep my same number). I also want one that isn't too small. My current phone is 3 3/4 in tall, 1 1/2 inches wide.

This better come to T-Mobile soon. I'm very excited for HDMI out on my new 55 inch LED 3DTV.
