Clockworkmod recovery v3.0...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole file signature...
E: signature verification failed...
Installation aborted

That's the message that shows up with the Android man inside a triangle with an exclamation mark. My phone is not rooted.... Anyone knows about this problem or knows how to fix it?

Your saying your phone is "not" rooted???

Yet the first line of your post states "clockwordmod recovery v3.0"

Clockwork is a custom recovery that is installed when you root your phone. Did you get this phone used???

How you are using cwm w/o root is amazing lol
If you are not concerned about rooting, update via settings/about phone/software update...if using a stock rom
Or, in cw, toggle signature verification so it is disabled.
Or, resign the zip.
Or, re-dload the zip, it might be corrupt.

No the phone as far as I am concerned is not rooted. I got it from Sprint after I declared my other one as lost.

So what I'm getting from u is that this phone at one point was rooted, which makes me kind of mad because I got it as a replacement phone from the insurance company since I reported my last one as lost. Either way how can I go bout fixing it. I new to this phone stuff so your are going to have to be a little more descriptive on walking me through the steps.... sorry and thanks for the help!
P.S. I got that message by doing the software update through the phone settings. After downloading, the phone powers off and then it starts loading the update, then the message...

To be honest, I have a hard time believing that any refurb wouldn't get complete wipe of the software with the fix...but anything is possible I guess.
What did you do before you saw that bit about clockworkmod and the failed verification?

I've tried everything. I even did a master reset of the phone. I go to settings, system update, HTC software update nd then check for update. It shows a for a update 4.22.651.2 of 109 megabytes or so. Then i click download. Once its downloaded I click on install. The phone turns off and as it starts it shows the Android with an opened box and an upload bar. As it uploads the downloaded software, the message shows up.

Well, maybe it's rooted. And maybe it has cwm
Lets check:
1. Turn the phone off
2. Power on by holding the power button and vol down
3. You should be at a white screen, some menu options, most notably some skating androids. This is the bootloader screen
4. It should do a check for PC36100 files...hopefully you don't have any
5. Using the vol rocker, go down to recovery.
6. Press the power button to confirm
7. The splash screen shall appear, and then either one of two things will appear..
A. The recovery menu B. A triangle and exclamation mark
Let me know which one
