What I am looking for is unlimited 3g data with no throttling as well as supports tethering without being cut off. Currently I am on virgin mobile and it is just terrible. Once I hit 2.5GBs it goes down to 256Kbps and sometimes even slower. I don't mind if it isn't a phone for internet as long as it is unlimited and has no throttling as well as no outrageous activation like 300 or something that I have seen. I would be very grateful for any help as I am stuck with getting either satellite, 3g, or dial-up as there is nothing else available.

Well that kind of sucks. As we don't have dsl or cable available in our area just things that are either too expensive or are throttled down as slow as dialup. Big river 4g is coming but from what I hear they are going to be limiting their service as well as it be contract. Kind of funny how they say we are going to be servicing the under-served areas. It isn't going to help us any as since it isn't unlimited it is pointless and much to expensive to just get so much data and get shut off once the limit is met.

Unlimited, un throttled 3G exists only on sprint, so far as I know. Clear is as far as I can tell completely unlimited and the throttling only happens when you are the heaviest user on a given tower and other users need some bandwidth.
Even for land line service, there aren't a lot that are truly unlimited.

Yeah, look at Sprint, but read the fine print. When I was with them, they had a ridiculous limit on roaming data use that basically said don't roam at all. I've heard even that is now unlimited too, but I haven't checked myself since I'm no longer with them thanks to misleading Sprint data tracking on their website and the post office loosing mail. But that's another story.

I mean prepaid as I can't do contract don't have the credit rating for it. And clear isn't available in my area even though it is they just aren't selling the 3g stuff it says when I input my zip code.

There is just they are much to expensive for me. Right now I am on virgin mobile but it is throttled but is still unlimited.

Unlimited 3G with 50GB soft cap.
Millenicom is what I meant, it unlimited as long as you are using if you are using it yourself and not a whole apartment. It has a soft cap of 50GBs which may or may not be enforced by shutting the service off. It seems like I have only used about 25GBs this month so it may be a good option for me since they are giving the usb stick for free with a small setup fee with shipping which I believe is used for credit on the service. What does everyone else think if they use the service.

Well I am still on millenicom. I used hughesnet gen4 for awhile but it was slower than dialup when limit was met. So I cancelled them and I am sticking with millenicom for now. If in the future sprint was to put 4g lte towers in my area maybe I will get lucky and millenicom will come up with a new device to support the lte instead of wimax. Then I could get unlimited 4g as they already have it but it is only for wimax and it isn't available in my area. And from what I heard sprint isn't making wimax towers anymore. One representative said they were but they probably got mixed up with lte even though I said wimax towers several times to confirm.
