I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 5. I lost all my ringtones and pictures!

I can find them in my files, but they can't use them because the phone isn't recognizing them as mp3 or jpg files. I tried emailing them to myself and then trying to save to gallery. That didn't work. What can I do?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about custom ringtones, or even the preinstalled ones? Did you take the pictures using your Camera app, or did you download them from the web? If you took them with the Camera, use My Files or any other file manager app to look in the /DCIM/Camera directory -- are the photo files still there?
