I can’t answer calls on my S9

When the phone rings and I open the case, I swipe across but it continues to show incoming call until it eventually stops and I haven’t been able to answer it

Welcome to Android Central! Does the screen seem to respond to your swipe? Are you sure you're swiping far enough?

Instead of swiping to answer, why not use single tap? Settings>Accessibility>Interaction and Dexterity>turn on single tap to swipe.
