I can customize notification bar if I root my phone?

Is it true that I can customize my notification bar if I root my phone? If so, how much flexibility do I have in the customization?
I mainly want to decrease the font size.

Yes and no. I haven't heard of any apps to customize the status bar, but on most custom roms you can change the location and looks of some stuff. There is an app in the store that lets you customize it but it didn't work well on my Optimus v

If youre rooted and the rom is deodexted you can. Rom toolbox pro app. But be careful with it. So icons will mess up your sh% t. Make a nandroid before you do it. And if after you install one something fc then quit and restore your backup and dont install that one again.

23 toggle mod will allow you add up to 23 toggles such wifi, bluetooth, and gps, or remove whatever you want also you can change the order in which they are viewed. All these toggles are viewed in the notifications area.
