I can move from Razr Maxx (non HD) to Razr HD - good move or not?

I have worked out a potential sale of my existing Razr Maxx (NON -HD) and purchasing a lightly used Razr HD (Not Maxx).
Clearly, the screen is better, as is the processor.
But, will I take a hit in battery life? Or, is the battery in the Razr HD about as long lasting as the battery in the prior Maxx?
And, can I expect the HD to be a faster overall experience than my Maxx, which is a bit laggy when switching between applications, loading email and photos, etc?
Any thoughts, advice and input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Depends on what you do. I am a moderate user. On a typical day I still have 60-70% when I plug in at night.

I am a moderate user except when traveling and using the Map/Navigation/GPS feature heavily. Did you upgrade from a non-HD Razr? If so, any sense as to whether I can expect a noticeable boost in performance/speed, or is the only meaningful difference the screen resolution?

I did the same thing in January. DO IT!!!!!
The Razr HD is as good if not better than the OG Razr Maxx for battery and power management.
I have yet to get to the point in a single day where I was looking for a charger on the HD. The Maxx was the same but at the end of the day with the HD I still have 50% battery left. This is tethering some, GPS and push email all day.

That's good news! What about the other differences between the two devices?

I upgraded from a Droid 2, so no real comparison there. But I have played with a previous generation RAZR and felt it seemed more sluggish and less sharp compared to my HD.

Just get the MAXX HD. You really want to leave the extra juice 'on the table' over $100? Just do it.

I was a bit frustrated that the new onscreen buttons means the effective use of the screen is no more than the OG RAZR, but the screen is significantly better, it also makes the swipe-up to google search pretty neat. It definitely feels physically bulkier too.

I'll take all the battery power I can get.

If I was on the position to upgrade again, I would still save the $100 and pick the RAZR HD. But that's based on my usage and the fact I have never had it die on me, rarely even close.
