i can not get my android 4.1 jelly bean to turn on. what could be the cause?

i have an android 4.1 jelly bean and i can not get the tablet to power on. What could cause this. yes it is charged. even when connected to charger.

A faulty power switch, for example, could cause it.
Have you tried long-pressing the power button, say for a minute or two?
