I can text but the user I am texting cant receive my texts

So I went to go text my friend and we were messaging something while we were on facetime and for some odd reason I was able to receive his messages but he could not see mine when I was messaging him. I'm confused about this situation.

Did you have an iPhone in the past? Did you deregister from iMessage? Did your friend change to send and receive from you as regular SMS?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried resetting your network connections to see if it was a glitch? Does this happen only with this particular contact?
