I can wave my hand to turn the screen on and see texts, can I read them by doing the same?

Pretty much what the title says, I can wave my hand over my phone to see all my notifications and texts, but is there a gesture I can do to read them or even get them to appear when I wave my hand the first time?

No. That is the only screen you can see.
