Ok, thinking about switching from Samsung s21plus. But I'm not sure which Pixel 6 to go with. Suggestions? What am I losing if I go with the regular 6? I'm an ATT customer.

I have an S21+ plus currently and I went with the regular 6.

I think you'll just be missing some extra camera specs - telephoto lens is on the 6 Pro - screen size, and battery size.

However, when it comes to camera and battery, Pixels are almost always good at those executions, so I'm sure you wouldn't go wrong with either device!

Here is a good guide on the differences!

Thank you! I'm still not sure about the difference in OS between the Samsung and Google phones. Google seems limited. Am I missing something?

I don't think you are. I never thought I'd become a One UI fan lol, we live in strange times!

It's not a difference in the OS, but rather a difference in the UI (user interface). Samsung has their own skin (One UI) which makes it look significantly different from the "stock" Android interface on Pixels (although they've toned it down a lot -- it used to look even more different). In addition, Samsung tends to preinstall a lot of their own apps and services (many of which are alternatives to Google's) that are fine, but superfluous if you don't need them (and most of them can't be uninstalled).

The primary advantages of Pixel phone has historically been amazing camera software and reliable monthly security updates (along with 3 years of guaranteed Android version upgrades). Now, Google has finally upped their game in terms of hardware, and monthly security updates have now extended to 5 years, so it's a hard package to beat!

Samsung has also stepped up support. Regular security updates now, even better than oneplus. Do you want google's "stock android" Because one has more customization options with Samsung. Do you want a smaller phone, get the P6. But only you know what you need in a device.

Pixel features like Now Playing, call screening, announcing who is calling, Google Now/Feed/Discover, etc. are what I miss anytime I switch to Samsung. Always brings me back.

As far as Pro vs Regular, the telephoto shooter is likely the single feature that compelled me the most to spend $300 more. But larger screen & battery, higher refresh rate, higher zoom, better selfie cam - the whole pkg, collectively, I would have focused too much on what I sacrificed had I bought the regular 6. But that's me.

Good luck with your choice. Either way, moving from Samsung to Pixel isn't a bad thing.

True, Samsung has done an admirable job, at least with its flagships!

You can do half of those things on a Samsung though.

That was me being generous.

Do you want a list of the things that the S21 ultra can do that the pixel 6 can't lol.

Most of us on here are pretty aware of the feature set of both phones and we're on the Pixel 6 forum for a reason. I've used Samsung for the past 8 years but it's time for a change.

Please let's not turn this into a tiresome Samsung vs Pixel "debate.";) The question is Pixel 6 vs Pixel 6 Pro.

Any chance AT&T would let you get one and if not happy get the other one - you'd still end up buying a phone from them

Got the 6 yesterday and I'm very pleased with it. Big price difference with the Pro. I would have liked the telephoto lens but don't want a bigger phone. Very good battery and Android 12 very smooth on this.
