I can't access the App Menu.

I have a calendar app that I can't access the 3-dot menu. The notification bar ON TOP, see screenshot.

I'm using Nova Prime, played with the settings with no luck. I even tried using Pixel launcher.

Ah, that's interesting. Perhapsthe slightly higher resolution on the 9 is cause the issue for this app

The Wemo (IoT Control devices, mostly) app does this, if I go to edit a schedule the "Save" button in the far upper-right. If I tap around enough on the obscured area, it will register the Save, but it takes a lot of taps, maybe 20-30 on average, super-annoying stuff.

Honestly, I'd love to ditch the app/devs, given how not great the app is overall, but it's not a realistic option...

Makes sense. The developer is looking into it but this morning I was watching NFL Countdown on my phone and used the Split Screen...

I tried the app and gained access.

Stupid suggestion, but do you have that problem if you change the screen resolution? Like changing from High to Full (or reversed)?

It still didn't work. I tried it after YankinDaSouth replied.

Now I know Splitting the Screen is the solution.

I tested under both resolutions as well. The split-screen solution is interesting, I suppose - if I touch around the button enough times (a lot of times, mentioned above) I can still hit it, but it's far from ideal.
Hopefully Google will fix the boundary issues here, the app shouldn't be able to display in a restricted space like that, without special perms like draw-over-other-apps (still might be bounded by system).

Do you have the calendar app on the home screen? Or is that just going into the app from the app ?
