You can't just buy from Amazon for the Atrix at present. You have to sideload it from your computer.

Alabama isn't on the approved state list for the Amazon app store I just checked. You might want to move to a better state or load a custom rom that will report a different geographical local.

Can you get around that by entering airplane mode, then turning on wifi and trying? That for most enables you to get the apps downloaded, then have to sideload to do the actual install. But if it really is a state thing, that may not work since the IP will still be in the state, but worth a shot.

you can but it requires rooting your phone then using gladEnabled to do it. That is what I did to turn on sideloading.

The simple answer is "no, you can't download anything other that what's in the Android Market."

The long answer is "you have to root your phone and use Side Load Wonder Machine."

If you didn't know that you couldn't sideload apps on the Atrix, you're probably not going to be comfortable with rooting your new phone. I suggest finding a buddy or reading / watching a lot of tutorials first.
