I can't change my screen lock type on my Samsung Galaxy Alpha

So basically, since I've had this phone, i've used fingerprint swipe, but that seems to have stopped working. I'm trying to change it back to swipe/pattern, but I can't press any of the options. They don't seem to be grayed out, it's just like the whole phone has frozen except i can go home, change tabs, pull down my notifications bar etc without any lag whilst it's not letting me change the screen lock.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you go to Settings>Security>Clear Credentials?

(damn i had to make an account to reply)
Whenever I go onto that, the Clear Credentials button is grey, and I can't press it. It doesn't give a reason.

Try booting into Recovery Mode and wiping the cache partition, which won't erase any personal data. Follow the steps in this video, but instead of selecting Wipe Data/Factory Reset, make sure you select Wipe Cache Partition. When complete, then select Reboot System Now.
