i cant find Media storage app in my phone.

I have tried almost everything to solve the problem of missing photos and videos in my gallery. I was just about to try clearing data and cache then disabling the media storage app when I found that its not in my apps.
What to I do then to bring it back. If no way how do I solve the gallery problem. I have tried almost everything!!!

Welcome to Android Central! Media Storage is a system app, so when you go to Settings>Apps, you need to tap Menu>Show System to find it.

But before you fiddle with that, please give more details about the issue you're facing, and maybe we can help you. Which phone do you have? Are the photo and video files still present in your storage (i.e., you can still see the files using your file manager), but they just don't show up in the Gallery app?

Jim, that seems to be happening more and more. Try Google Photos instead.

I have the same problem. But it's rather my fault because i accidentally uninstalled media storage. My phone is ASUS zenfone 4 max. I uninstalled because it keeps appearing in notif that it drains battery. Please. It's sad because even taking photos is not allowed because of that

@B. Diddy, thank you for helping me locate media storage. I accidentally set it as default for picking ringtones and notifications - drove me crazy!!
