The Core Prime phone she is using doesn't seem to want to update the apps that came with the phone. I have it on WiFi and the default is to ' update from WiFi only' there have been NO apps added to the phone since she got it 3 months ago. When I go to the Play Store it wants to show me all the apps that have been downloaded to the phone, of course there aren't any. I do know that her phone got the large update for the OS when we put the phone back in service, after letting it sit for some weeks. Aside from that it won't update the apps that are came with it.

Clearly if there are no updates needed it won't update! ;) I get that, but I would think even if we didn't d/l any new apps, surely some of the ones on the phone would need updating at some point or can't they be updated?

Although we have WiFi she is using the phone in the 'Ultra Power Saving Mode' which disables WiFi, that's fine I can turn that off and connect to WiFi and it still doesn't do anything. My same phone seems to be finding updates all the time and I haven't added that many extra apps, I guess I need to pay attention to what it's really updating.

Thanks in advance!

Go to the Play Store and manually search for one of the preinstalled apps, and see if it says Update. For a long time, the Google Play Store has had this annoying bug (if that's what you can call it) where it won't notify you of updates to preinstalled apps until you've updated them at least once. Then they'll show up in your My Apps list with subsequent updates.

Thank you, I will try it as soon as I get my hands on her phone!
If 'no joy' I'll be back with the results or the lack thereof!
Odd that mine never did that, I'm glad I asked!
Cheers!

B. Diddy,
You were right as soon as I did as you suggested, there were 21 apps that wanted updating. I had to do all 21 manually. Hopefully that will fix it for the next batch. My hope is that once out of the Ultra Battery Saver mode and I enable WiFi it will get the updates without me fooling with it.

thanks,

All the Devs must be on holidays, I haven't had any app updates for a while now....

Yeah he is! A few app updates have dribbled in since I posted. Like you I think they are all in the Bahamas!
