I can't send pictures or screenshots in my gallery using Whatsapp

I select a picture or screenshot to send using Whatsapp. When I press to send, it does not send and the gallery closes.

Are the pictures on the phone? Or did they get backed up to Google Photos? If they're backed up, they're not on the phone, so you;ll have to download the ones you want to send. (Downloading them doesn't delete them from Google Photos, and you can delete them from the phone after you send them.)

Does this happen with any item in the Gallery? Have you tried sharing directly from the Gallery into Whatsapp? If the latter works, it might be a bug in the Whatsapp app or you might want to try clearing Whatsapp's Cache and see if that helps. If neither method works, it might be a Gallery App bug (in which case I'd suggest to try to share from a File Manager app).
