I can't update my at&t note9 to 9.0

When I check for update it says you're up to date and I'm outside the USA so if I downloaded the 9.0 update from the internet will something happen to my phone...like will at&t close my phone?

No Att won't close your phone, have you used Odin before?

Watch some YouTube videos how it's done to get the hang of it.
