so i've had this problem for quite a while now, many months to be exact, this issue came out of nowhere, videos used to work perfectly on my device, which is a Huawei Y5 II phone, then suddently videos stopped working on instagram, starting from stories, posts, DMs and even IGTV.
I've searched on the internet for solutions and i've tried them all, uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting the cache, always keeping the app up to date, i don't have power saving mode so there is no way that is the problem.
i've even tried the seperate IGTV app by instagram and surprisingly enough, the videos worked perfectly fine on there, that made me believe the problem is on the app and not my phone right ? i tried reporting the problem but it's no help, i hope that somebody has the answer to my problem.
