AC Question

changed battery on nexus 5, now i get no service. what did I break?

I have a nexus 5. The battery was shot. I watched a youtube video, bought a new battery, replaced it, the battery works fine, but now I have no cellular service.

I tried putting in a different sim card... no dice. Not the sim card.

I put back in the old battery... no dice. Not the battery.

I figured, 'dang, i must have broke an antenna' so I bought new antennas and replaced them... no dice. Not the antennas.

What else could it be? And, can i replace that myself?

Welcome to the Nexus 5 forum.

Perhaps there is no hardware damage. Have you considered a Cache Partition wipe, and if no go, a Factory Reset?

go to setting, About phone, status, SIM status, check the signal strength, normally is -89 dBm 10 asu, if you have much different numbers maybe the antenna is disconnected....

Signal strength = 109dbm 2 asu
Service state = in service
but the cellular network state = disconnected

I'm assuming this is the problem. How do I reconnect cellular network state?

Hi,
I am facing the same problem here after replacing the battery, is there a solution that you reached at ? Please share the solution.

Vikram
