I removed 2 Android devices from a Google account. But I continue to receive Google Account alerts on both devices from Google Play services, whenever I change the account password. Why is this still happening, and how do I stop it?
1) I removed the account from the 2 devices in Settings > Accounts.
2) I also removed both devices from the Google account website: Security Checkup > signed-in device
3) The 2 Android devices still show up in Security > Your devices (but the remove button is no longer available. I assume it will hide the 2 Android devices after 28 days?)
4) Now the problem. Whenever I change the account password, both of the 2 Android devices continue to receive Google Account alerts: "The password for your Google Account XX*****X@gmail.com was recently changed. Learn More." The email address is hidden except for the first 2 and last 1 character.
5) On one device, I tried deleting data and cache for Google Play services and Google Play store. But this did not help.
6) I reconnected 1 device. Then changed the account password. The 1 disconnected device continues to receive the alert. The 1 reconnected device gets a login error alert and requires a re-entry of the new password.
