I don't have a G6 but if I did that V30 would start giving me the upgrade fever.

I don't own a G6 because when it came out I refused to give up the DAC and I wasn't keen on losing the removable battery. Now that you guys have had some time in the saddle with the G6 are you getting the fever especially since its getting closer to us knowing what's inside the box?
I have the V20 and I won't give up the DAC which it looks like it will retain. Google DayDream out of the box peaks my interest. Both rear cameras with the same megapixels is looking good. Not sure how I feel about the new slim look but it might feel better. I know some of you will jump....fess up if you think you might.

Understood....the G6 is a nice phone.

Well that and the fact that changing phones often is close to impossible in canada (could be just my province though but i doubt it)
It gets really expensive real fast ie : cancelling first contract to then choose phone B to sign another one to then pay cancel fee which is the balance of the phone (in my case the s8+ i traded so i'd pay about 500-600$) ,then pay what i'd guess to be another 400$ for another phone so about 1000$ give or take everytime i'd want to upgrade. Way too much money and i'm not rich :p

I like reading the specs of the V30, but the news that it'll have a curved screen turns me off. I do like how it's 6 inches vs the G6 5.7 inches.

However I got an amazing deal thru AT&T, with payment plan the G6 is $360 total after 2 yrs. So yeah gonna keep the G6 for a while...

I promised my wife that when we bought our G6's for 2 for 1 that I would actually use this phone throughout the life of the payment plan, which will be a first for me. In the past I have always found a reason to upgrade, and most of the time it was a valid reason although not necessary. I truly think this is the first time I will have a phone going on 2 years where I don't feel as if the phone in year two is inferior to what it was in year 1.

If for some reason the phone tanks after a year I'll go back on my word, by I am going to try to fight the upgrade bug just to upgrade.

Nope. After a couple years of using a Droid Turbo 2, Nexus 6P, and Moto Z Play, I'm done with phablets. The G6 is the perfect size for me. DAC and Oled isn't enough to tempt me away, never mind to a larger phone. Also, curved edges, EWWW.

My last LG phone was the G3. My daughter has had the G4, 5 and 6. I got a great deal on the G6 through Sprint ($4.75 a month) and I was an inch away from buying myself one.

I've been wanting to try the V phone since the 10 came out and decided the 30 would be the one. So I wouldn't be jumping from the G6 but I would say the G6 has put LG back in my good graces.

Only thing that might tempt me from G6 to V30 is the new aperture 1.6 rumoured and maybe higher mp in both cameras... Right now very very happy with my G6

My wife has the G6 and loves it. I think the G6 is great, but have my eye on the V30. Only thing that would ruin it is a curved screen. If it has one, I will have to reconsider my options.

Nah I hate that curved screen sooooooo much. so happy to be back with a flat screen.

I'm quite curious as to why you hate them so bad? I don't love em (personally i only like 2.5d glass) but i'm curious what will you do when every oem makes a curved flagship ? Will you stop using a phone completely or what :p?

So let me get this straight, sorry for the expression. So you don't have the G6 but the phone you don't have will make you rethink of upgrading on antoher phone you don't have (V30)

Hah, dude buy G6 or wait the V30 and buy it, and then come back here.. I will get rid off the G6, when G8 comes out.

I'm not knocking the G6 and it's rude of you to tell me to come back here after I buy a a G6 or a V30. I own a V20 and have not reason to buy a G6 because I won't buy a phone without a dedicated DAC. Because I don't own a G6 doesn't mean I'm not familiar with it.
Because I don't own a G6 doesn't mean I can't start a thread or make a statement such as the one I made based on my opinion. The participants of this forum that like to upgrade their phones often know exactly what I mean about upgrade fever.

The V20 is not the first phone with a dedicated DAC and last year was the not first year of a phone with a DAC. I didn't say no one can live without a DAC all of a sudden. To some of us that enjoy listening to music it changes everything, however it is best appreciated with a good set of headphones. I for one, won't buy a phone without it unless I don't have the option or there are other things that bother me about the phone.

DACs have been in phones for a while - V10 had a good combo that was an improvement of the G4's; HTC's Boom sound wasn't just the front facing speakers; Xperia Z3 had very good audio too. What made the V20 special is that is has BOTH a high quality DAC + a powerful amp. HTC 10 is very good with both and the V20 just crushes it, with the Axon 7 firmly right behind it. The G6+ could be in this discussion, but it's limited access right now - although if you got to the right websites, you can buy one.

Audophiles and people like me who like good portable music have been around for eons. It would be a shame if the V30 doesn't continue this tradition.
