I went to Best Buy on Tuesday to reserve my EVO from their next shipment. I was told I was number 6 in line, so I should expect it in a week.

Yesterday, got a call that its in! But, I'm not eligible for an upgrade until 9/1, so it just sits and waits... Maybe my email to Sprint asking for early upgrade will work out...but, I'm not counting on it.

You are less than a week away from your upgrade. I would contact Sprint and see if they will push that through the system. If they agree to it, see if Best Buy can verify this because if they don't see you eligible for an upgrade on their end, you'll have to pay the full price.

Look at it this way Since Root has been Released now you'll be the lucky one to look thru everyone elses bugs and mistakes. When you you everything will go smooth

Why don't you pay full price for it now, use it gently (don't drop it) and return it in a week and buy it again at upgrade price?

I know if you go to some sprint stores, they will let you upgrade as early as 2 weeks before your actual upgrade date. Call sprint and see what they can do for you. Having your account in good standing definitely helps for this as well.

OP - Im sure Sprint will wait to push your upgrade up a week. If not, wait a week. At least you're getting one and its reserved. Cup is always half full my friend.
