I found some fonts are unsupported/invisible in my phone how do i fix ?

I have root access and i tried to stylise my phone by installing philosopher.ttf as my default font.
But the problem is i can't type phonetic symbols like : ʌɑɜəɪɔʒʃɒˏŋ as they appear blank in my phones. I reverted to roboto.ttf but they appear as squares. Even in web browsers they appear blank. My question is, is there any way to install additional fonts support in my phone so that i can see the real fonts instead of blanks and empty boxes ?
