Pretty easy. Almost to easy since it didn't come with phone.

Why would you want that when you could use Google Voice, with or without another phone number (for free), and transcribed messages, free calls to Canada, etc etc.

I just don't understand this fascination with a second rate voice message feature.

Well, voicemail isn't a big deal to me but I do like visual voicemail and have used this one in the past.

But you just got a new phone. So why cling to the old. VvM is so slow and limited compared to GV. It's so much more than simply voice mail.

Because numerous people (like myself) can't get it to work. Non informative error message every freaking time I tried to install/use it. The AT&T Visual Voicemail app looks and works very similar to Apple's. Setup is also virtually the same. It's not slow at all on my One X.

Looked in my apps in play store. The ones I have downloaded in the past. It was there so I redownloaded it and it worked

Visual voicemail is nice, but once you use Google Voice, there's no going back. At least for me.

how do you get VVM on the HOX? and further more how do you get it to work?

When i was getting my micro sim at a corp store, the lady turned out on for me. rebooted my phone and there it was.

Those of you who have been able to get VVM working on your HOX...are you using ATT Messages or ATT Visual Voicemail? I can't get ATT VVM to work but ATT Msgs does...but ATT Msgs BLOWS !!!

Att visual voicemail for me. I've used it on other android phones so I went into my apps in the play store and scrolled over to all apps. That's were it was so I downloaded it.

Call customer service to turn it on. Disable AT&Tmessages . Or root your hox and get rid of it like i did lol

I've already gone thru customer service a couple times to get VVM setup on my HOX and each time they tell me I have to go with ATT Msg's...I obviously haven't been connected to anyone who is "savvy" about ATT VVM and the HOX...I'll try going into my local store where I purchased my HOX next. Hopefully one of the reps in there will have an HOX running ATT VVM and know what they're talking about and doing.

That's weird. I deleted AT&T messages and still have vvm working. Maybe go into a store?

Same here - I've called numerous times and get the same answer "VVM is not available for my 1X, but you can download AT&T Messages"
I've even gone into 2 different AT&T Corp. Stores and both times, I was told, that it wasn't happening on the 1X

If you have downloaded it on past devices it will be in the play store under settings and my apps and all apps.

What does an AT&T rep say if you tell them other people are able to re-download it on the 1X from their history? Why isn't it just available to download, I don't understand...

I had a Skyrocket before this and had it on my phone and when I got this phone to it wasn't on here. I downloaded it from xda and then called At&t to get it.

UPDATE: Finally got ATT VVM working on my HOX !!!

Called customer care AGAIN...finally got someone who knew what I was talking about...my account was provisioned for ATT Messages, not ATT VVM...They corrected the provisioning, I DL'd ATT VVM and went thru the setup no problem...it now works....FINALLY!

It does work on your HOX...they have to provision your account for ATT Visual Voicemail....NOT ATT Messages...there is a difference in the provisioning!

Ok, then, there is the definitive answer.

But you are still missing the boat going with AT&Ts third rate carrier solution rather than Google Voice.

GV is just a better solution in every way.
