Anyone else? Ended up going w/o the Edge.... 32gb white. I never cared for white phones, but I have a white ipad and it hides the finger prints so much better.

Went through the same thing. Money wasn't the issue for me, but in hand feel was. I decided to go with the Edge 32GB Black because I just can't get past how cool the Edge looks.

I would have gone with the edge too. I was at the samsung store yesterday buying my note 4. I saw the edge and the 6 and the edge was the better looking and felt the best in the hand. It's just too small for me.

Money not an issue for me either.... but I guess I didn't like the idea of text, etc being slightly off the main screen. *shrugs* I can always change if needed I guess.

I may need to stop at the store and check...

Went out best buy earlier, definitely glad I preodered the regular s6. After spending some time with both regular and edge versions I just didn't see the point in the extra $ for the 2 curved edges other than the look it gives. But before I get blasted, TO EACH HIS OWN, GET THE 1 YOU LIKE BEST!

Just checked them both out at BB. Overall, I definitely like the phone and will be pre-ordering when Verizon goes live next week. The S6 is a little more comfortable in hand due to the rounded edges vs. the sharp edge of the Edge. I was impressed with the hand detection software on the Edge - I tried to hug the phone with my hand to see if it would unintentionally activate things, but it seems to behave like a normal bezel, so that's good. Images at the side are definitely skewed a little, but not in a bad way - almost in a cool way. One thing I noticed is that the glass back didn't feel as glassy as I remember the iPhone 4/4S being. It felt closer to plastic - not sure if that is because the iPhone glass back felt chunkier, or because of the updated gorilla glass in the 6S. I'm hopeful that it will be more forgiving that the iPhone was with falls - so many of those ended up spiderwebbed it was a joke.
Still not entirely sure which I'll go with, but probably the Edge b/c it's just a little better looking and more unique, without the screen taking away, or adding to the functionality in a meaningful way. It's totally a cosmetic thing.

After finishing my AT&T preorder of my 64GB black sapphire GS6 at Best Buy, I went over and played with both the. GS6 and the Edge. honestly, the GS6 feels so much better in the hand than the Edge. It has a more solid and premium feel. The curved edge bezels were sharp, feeling not knife edge sharp but enough to notice. Both, for demo units, performed great. No noticeable lag at all. fast and smoother as butter.

Went with the edge but I did like the way the regular felt in the hand better. The cool factor and the other small features caused me to go for the edge. I'm sure I'll get used to the feeling too. Different feels awkward at first usually. Ask anyone how they felt when they went for their first phablet. Most say it took getting used to but now they wouldn't go back.

Happy for your choice. My misgiving was the practicality from an investment perspective of the Edge. It lacks the functionality of the GN4 and there will be no apps that can be used by the Edge. You can only use one edge at a time. It seems more like a novelty that just having notifications, new feeds and the time isn't enough to justify the $100 over each storage level.

I think a lot of people will use the People Edge for messaging/calling/emailing favorite contacts. I can find use for it. Outside of that, the other stuff isn't very helpful, but the Edge is the Apple Watch Edition of the S6 family. Little more exclusive, more expensive, etc.

Not making a judgment. Just my opinion. The purposes you site are probably what it will be used for but it doesn't justify the extra cost. Prestige is not a reason for me. It's not quite the same as the 24k gold GS6 but you get where my opinion is based. I believe that if you spend that much you should be getting true value for very dollar you spend. If you have the money and want to spend it, that's your prerogative and I am happy for your choice.

Well put. I'd agree that when you factor in whether or not its worth the $100 difference then I'd definitely agree with no. However for me on the edge plan its a difference of $96 over the course of a 2 year span. $4 a month. I decided to go for it. Wouldn't blame anyone for choosing the other route because I almost did myself.

Guess from a cost perspective, we are looking at it differently. I am stuck looking at it from a contract extension way that I have since 1994. We have upgraded through the normal two year rotation. Since we have four lines, I was able to upgrade frequently but since my son and Dad got smartphones, it has made less willing to upgrade unless the device is a true upgrade in terms of performance and functionality. From a cost perspective, I did not find the Next plan to be attractive since you are renting a device and by the end of the term or even one year, you don't own something you have been paying for. Again, just my opinion. I also don't want to give my grandfathered unlimited data plan which I would have to give up.

Because the S6 Edge has no extra screen like the Note Edge, there almost no real functionality available. Flashing lights based on your favorite people? Gimmick. Who puts their phone face down? The alarm clock and ticker as well add the swipe for favorite people could be done on the regular S6. Anyone trying to justify the Edge based on functionality is SOL.

But if you're willing to pay extra for look and feel, it's money well spent.

That's actually not accurate about AT&T's Next program. For example, "Next 24"....you make 30 payments and the device is yours to keep. You aren't "renting" the device any more than you would be with a contract. For a lot of people this is actually a cheaper route to go if you're paying for 10GB of pooled data or more. Additional phone lines cost $15. With the $15 you can choose to buy a phone at full price, or finance it at 0% over 18, 24, or 30 months. At 12 months (if you're making 18 payments), 18 months (if you're making 24 payments), or 24 months (if you're making 30 payments), you have the option to trade the phone in at a "break even" point. Or you can ride out the payments and simply own the phone at the end of the term. Verizon's "Edge" program is very similar. The programs give you a lot more flexibility on when you can/want to upgrade....

About the next plan...
No, you don't truly rent or turn in your phone unless you don't feel like paying it off.

Example: my m8 is a year old now. If I pay it off in full tomorrow then it's my phone and I can upgrade it to the S6. I won't have to trade it in or take a loss. Or I could trade it in after paying half the price right now.

But trading in your phone is always a dumb idea. Take your S4 for example. I too had an S4 that I used as a backup to my m8. It was fully paid off and eligible for an upgrade. You traded it in to best buy for what? A $50 gift card? I sold my S4 to my friend for just under what the going rate for it on Craigslist... $200.
I pre-ordered the S6 on that line and didn't have to loose anything and I seemed to have done better than you.

With that said, never give up your unlimited.
